Partnerships
With a rich background as a seasoned functional and integrative medicine family and public health physician, I am now also bringing my expertise to wellness-oriented companies and organizations in educator, advisor, and consultant roles.
My approach, rooted in uncovering the underlying causes of chronic issues and educating and empowering patients and families onto greater wellness trajectories, can help infuse medical credibility and add thoughtful depth to the organizational mission and goals.
My interest is in crafting educational and marketing program content, designing research protocols, and engaging in program and product development. I am particularly drawn to working with initiatives addressing environmental and climate health, as my passion lies in bridging the gaps between soil health, climate health, and human well-being.
Examples of Partnerships:
Kiss The Ground
Advisor
Kiss The Ground is a nonprofit group that believes in harnessing the power of healthy soil to combat climate change, restore ecosystems, and nourish communities and microbiomes worldwide.
I have had the opportunity to serve as an advisor for this pioneering organization that is at the forefront of improving human health through regenerative agriculture and soil health. I have partnered with them on policy work; served as an educator for their Soil Advocacy Training course; and facilitated and supported outreach of both the Kiss the Ground and Common Ground educational films.
Big Bold Health
Clinic Studies Advisor & Food Lab Curator
I have been privileged to serve in several roles with Big Bold Health over the last 5 years, including conducting research in their Clinical Studies division and helping develop recipes with the BBH Food Lab team. Big Bold Health is a company founded by the world-renowned educator, researcher, and founder of the field of Functional Medicine and the Institute for Functional Medicine, Jeffrey Bland PhD. Big Bold Health has a mission to transform the way people think about one of nature’s greatest innovations — the immune system.
The company advocates for the power of Immuno-Rejuvenation to enhance immunity at a global level, through a network of small farms and suppliers that take a clear stance on regenerative agriculture, environmental stewardship, and planetary health by growing a novel immune superfood, Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat, among other sustainably sourced product offerings.
Rodale Institute
Physician Educator
Rodale Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit conducting independent research to uncover and share regenerative organic farming practices that restore soil health, fight climate change, and fix the food system.
I am privileged to work with their new Pacific Northwest Organic Center at Cascadian Farm and serve as a physician educator to both the public and to health care providers about the intersections of soil health, human health, and climate health, including getting participants’ hands into the soil to connect, learn, plant and harvest. I was fortunate to attend their inaugural Regenerative Healthcare Conference at their headquarters and research center in Kutztown, Pennsylvania
Wunderground Coffee
Medical Advisor
Wunderground Coffee is turning organic antioxidant-rich coffee into a wellness drink by adding the health-promoting power of organically grown, fruiting body adaptogenic (stress and immune balancing) mushrooms.
As the company’s medical advisor, I am engaging in projects such as educational newsletter content and podcast contributions, as well as educational presentations to help raise awareness of the powerful and broad health benefits of medicinal mushrooms to human health.
Given that coffee is the number one way Americans get their antioxidants, It is compelling for me as a public health-minded, nutrition-oriented physician to support this daily (or multiple times/day!) ritual and its evolution into a superfood drink for greater well-being for the community.
